AXESS

BIOGRAPHY:

London based band formed by former Falkirk musician and ex-Aegis member, Wilson Sharp, who moved to the capital in 1972. Sharp later turned down a place in the Edgar Broughton Band to form his own act, Axess, with his wife Janis (vocals / guitar). The name came from "female axe player", and came in handy when phoning record companies (who assumed that someone was phoning from a credit card!). The duo gigged around London, playing venues such as Dingwalls, The Rock Garden, and Camden Palace, before forming Who's George?
