GOLDRUSH
BIOGRAPHY:
Band formed circa 1972 by Stirling musician David Grant (vocals / guitar) along with local boys Johnny Bain (guitar), Bobby O’Donnell (bass) & David Hamilton (drums). O’Donnell left to join Sunshine Cottage (led by drummer Ted Christopher, currently owner of Roadshow Music, Stirling), and was replaced by Greg McLean (bass) from Alloa. O’Donnell then returned to the band. Davy Loney (drums) replaced Hamilton when he left Goldrush to join East Kilbride band Bridge, who went on to become resident band in Glasgow’s famous Burns Howff. The band continued until at least 1978, but without Grant who emigrated to Australia in the mid-1970's.
Hamilton's daughter was later a solo singer.
