BUTLER
BIOGRAPHY:
Falkirk /
Alloa / Stirling based band formed in 2005 and featuring Denny drummer Greg Moodie,
alongside Liam Kelly (vocals / guitar), Chris Lowdon (guitar), Allan Conry (bass
/ vocals). When Jack Butler released their debut single, "Velvet Prose",
which won great acclaim from press and radio, reaching the Official UK Independent
chart top 30.
With
their second offering, "Boy Vs Beast", the band upped the ante, with
comparisons to Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand.
Their debut
album was recorded in 2007, and is currently being mixed by Mark Freegard (Manic
Street Preachers, Pete Townshend, The Breeders, Erasure) The album also features
a track with Mick Cook from Belle and Sebastian playing trumpet.
After
successful performances at T in the Park in 2006 and the Connect Festival in 2007,
the band are due to appear at "T on the Fringe" and the Belladrum Festival
in summer2008.
In August 2011, they played at the Dennycassim Festival.
