Johnny
GRAND
BIOGRAPHY:
Stirling born (1944) country singer & guitarist, born as John McGrandles,
who grew up and lived in Denny. He bought his first guitar in 1960 and joined
a group called The Prize Chunks,
before playing with The Vendors. Grand
went solo in the 1970's, touring America with the Alexander Brothers, and releasing
two albums, "Country Contrast" in 1975 and "Parade Of Broken
Hearts" on Lismore Records in 1977. Some of the tracks were written by
local artist Sandi Easton. Later
in life Grand moved to Balloch to run the Tullichewan Hotel, until he died in
late 2007.
