Ross FAIRWEATHER & THE BILLY SHEARS

BIOGRAPHY:

Act formed by former solo Ross Fairweather (vocals / guitar) in 2007, and featuring Billy Kay (bass, ex-Ross Fairweather), Andy Douglas (guitar, ex-July Days) & Lee Burgoyne (drums). Taking their name from a Beatles lyric, the band travelled to Toulouse, France in late 2007 to record their debut album, "Songs de la Terre", with former John Martyn producer Roger Shepherd. In December the band missed out on a support to The Verve at the SECC, Glasgow (due to missing a telephone call), however they did support former Delgado, Emma Pollock. Kay, Douglas & Burgoyne then left in 2008 to form The Ray Summers Band, and Fairweather put together a new act, The Last Saloon.
